Lowbrow sexual shenanigans
22 March 2010
Warning: Spoilers
You're not expecting Shakespeare, right? Because you're not going to get it.

No, what you're going to get is a film two thirds full of sexually oriented activity, some feasible, some improbable, some even quite likely, leavened with a small amount of quite sweet prevaricating over whether to or whether not to (leading to our virgin hero being given a free pass by his virgin girlfriend to a weekend of debauchery and surefire devirginisation "to get it out of his system." Yeah, right).

The other third is taken up with a rather unsavoury subplot involving rivalry with an underhand, aggressive and downright unpleasant football team of midgets. Sorry, small people.

This film is not Politically Correct. I may not need to point that out.

This is not the stuff of culture. It's pretty lowbrow stuff. But then, the previous entries in the American Pie series (assuming that you checked out this movie having seen them) should have given you at least some idea what to expect.

Some of it is amusing (hang on, I'm trying to think of an example...)

There are some pretty girls who take their clothes off.

Eugene Levy puts in an appearance and is head and shoulders the best thing in the film. Now he is funny!
