It's not very original as Donnie Darko and Greg Araki films like nowhere and Mysterious skin touch on these aspects.
This film has that very British feel as to feel like you are watching for real these actions of the actor, whereas an American Hollywood film would over dramatise the mental problems making them seem not so real. Thus making me feel like I was the man with problems.
