A Costly Present

Warning: Spoilers
Ray Corrigan, Dusty King, and Max Terhune ride the range again for Monogram as the Range Busters in Boot Hill Bandits. This has got to be one of the dumbest westerns ever with one of the dumbest villains on record.

The Range Busters are on the trail of some bandits with an inside contact for payroll information, that's the guy they want. When they explode a payroll wagon, they think Crash Corriogan is killed in the explosion. Glenn Strange, one of men brings the leader John Merton the badge of Marshal Corrigan as proof of his demise.

So what does this genius do? He gives it to a girl Jean Brooks he's trying to impress who promptly turns it over to sheriff Steve Clark and the Range Busters. After that it's a matter of time.

This film is populated with geniuses. Max Terhune uses his ventriloquist skills to get a drunken member of the gang guarding him when he's prisoner to shoot at Elmer the dummy. That was worth a few laughs, but these have to be some of the lamest bandits around.

Yet the cast kept a straight face throughout.
