Kingdom Hearts II (2005 Video Game)
10/10
The Best Story Ever In a Game
17 October 2010
Warning: Spoilers
OK I'm prepared for the tonne of hate mail coming through for my summary but, to me no story has ever touched me as much as Kingdom Hearts has. When you take two storytelling giants like Disney and Final Fantasy and combine them, get ready for a flood of emotions. The story seems simple enough, Sora the 14 year old protagonist loses his home and his friends and goes on a quest to save them on the way going through Disney worlds. But its the way that this is done, his best friend Riku turns out to be one of the people hunting him. Kairi (his damsel in distress) has an aura of charisma about her and you genuinely care for her by the end of the story. The theme of hearts is present throughout the story and Sora's weapon the keyblade is symbolic of unlocking peoples hearts and the barriers between us. The ending of Kingdom Hearts is heart wrenching and Sora's determination to save his friends is carried on to Chain of Memories and to Kingdom Hearts II. Kingdom Hearts is as good as any movie and if you don't like this game then try it again you might find you like it if you give it a second chance.
