Laughs throughout
26 October 2010
I've been very interested in watching this movie ever since I found out about it. I was a fan of Todd Phillips' The Hangover and through that I loved Zach Galifianakis. Robert Downey Jr. always does solid work. Through all of that I had high expectations and as with all expectations there is always a risk that they will not be met.

I caught a pre-screening of this in Michigan and it was highly entertaining. It's up to par with The Hangover to me and more meaningful. There were more sentimental moments here than in Phillips' last movie and the humor doesn't rely as much on gross-outs and raunchiness.

The cinema was laughing throughout the movie. It's not an original idea (comparisons with Planes, Trains, and Automobiles are inevitable) but it was more than satisfying. I say it's the funniest movie of the year but I haven't seen all the comedies released this year.

Highly recommended.
