Elephant (2003)
8/10
Brilliance in direction
13 February 2011
Brilliant, a work of brilliance by Gus van Sant, Makes you feel like you are there, feel like you are a student in the school as it shows the mundane parts of everyday school life inter wined with brilliant corridor movements and sound recordings, the slowing and filming of the sky and the thunder.

Another of Van Sant's brilliant films like Drugstore Cowboy, engages you into the role of the idea. Using kids, the students to play the parts of the 'Loosely based on the massacre of the Columbine High School' students similar to that shot and similar to the shooters, making them all feel ordinary and very mundane. Done in a documentary style, but acted unscripted.

A clear 8/10 and a must see for all, along with his other brilliant titles.
