Wolverine and the X-Men (2008–2009)
9/10
Not as good as the original 90s series, but better than Evolution

I've always liked X-Men, and Wolverine and the X-Men does nothing to change that. It is a great series that is almost as good(if not quite) as the brilliant 90s series, and much more consistent than the decent but problematic X-Men Evolution. I really wish that Storm had more personality, all too often she was just there with very little to her. On the other hand, it does look great, with some very dark and detailed animation with fluid character designs to boot. The music has atmosphere and the intro is catchy as it ought to be. The writing has some clever, without being out-of-place, jokes as well as having a real arch quality to it, while the story lines complete with exciting action sequences, intense yet moving character arcs and a real sense of involvement are incredibly compelling. Apart from Storm I loved the characters, Wolverine is a charismatic leader, Nightcrawler is every bit as good, Magneto is wonderfully disdainful and Mr Sinister perfectly lives up to his name with some humanity to him also. Emma Frost is also very well done. The voice acting is just great, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more perfect choice for Mr Sinister as Clancy Brown in particular. So overall, a wonderful series. 9/10 Bethany Cox
