Stalingrad (2013)

War as ballet and opera . . .
13 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
. . . with a lot of video game action thrown in for good measure (particularly the Attack of the Fiery Banshees). Telling the same story as ENEMY AT THE GATES (2001)--but completely opposite in tone and ulterior motive, the "highest grossing flick in Russian history" is just what it took to get the current Russian troops to overrun the Crimean Peninsula this month, under the pretense that it was once a Russian territory. I have some news for the complacent American majority: Alaska was once a Russian territory, too (and you can bank on the fact that Vladimir Putin has planted a few Russian-speaking people there). Don't be surprised to find our oil reserves snatched away from our control by invading Communist forces any day now (Sarah Palin will be one of the first to perish in this attack, since, as she says, "I can see Russia from my house"). The pretext for this Alaskan Abomination will be the same as the Catastrophe in Crimea, so you can bet the White House and the U.N. appeasers will just spout more hot air while twiddling their thumbs, as they did this month in Phase One of the Russian Century (funny how I don't remember ANY news reports at the time of the Japanese Tsunami that RUSSIANS were saving the day, which is how STALINGRAD begins and ends!). A word to the wise: bone up on your Russian language skills!
