Satirical Genius
27 October 2014
This was written as a SATIRE to tell the over looked truth about how racism towards the black community is still very prevalent in American culture. The writer did a phenomenal job developing his characters and storyline in a true (sometimes over dramatized) way. Being a white female in my 20's I have gained a huge cultural awareness to the film industry. In response to people that think this movie is "racist" towards white people, I will argue that the film industry is mostly only open to white culture influenced film. The only "black" movies we ever see that make it big are Tyler Perry movies or movies about slavery. Black people are more than slave movies and they are Definitely more than Madeas Family Reunion. Take into consideration, The writers intention was to write a Satire that brought to light issues that black people deal with all the time, issues that are completely overlooked. So I'm sorry, but if you are white and you are insulted by this movie , GET OVER IT! You have an abundance of white privilege that you don't even use in a way that will benefit all Americans.
