Will Ferrell is an acquired taste. Either you like his humor, his ability to just "go for it" or you don't. Such is the case with GET HARD. If you like Ferrell, you'll like this movie. If you don't, don't waste your time.
The surprise to me, in this movie, was Kevin Hart. He, basically, is the star of this movie with Ferrell playing the straight man. That is, until Ferrell "breaks loose." Which means the first 3/5 of the movie is Hart's - and he hold our attention, and the humor, quite well.
But it is in a scene about 3/5 of the way in the movie that Ferrell finally lets go - and he lets go in one of the funniest sequences I have ever scene. I cannot describe the scene here for it is VERY politically incorrect, VERY adult and VERY funny. This scene is worth the price of admission alone.
I turn into about a 14 year old kid when Ferrell is at the top of his game, and - at times - he is in this movie with Hart providing enough backup humor to make this flick worth watching.
