There are few things more frustrating than almost, and The Kings Of Summer is an "almost" kind of movie. Despite a setup which asks us to sympathize with a pair of very self absorbed teens whose biggest problem is that - *gasp!* - their parents are annoying, it still manages to be a reasonably likable movie thanks to random fits of inspired quirkiness and a talented cast. But lost within its folds is a much, much better movie and that wasted potential ultimately serves to overshadow the entire thing.
