Ludicrous and Relevant - In All the Right Ways
8 March 2016
A Piece of the Pie accomplishes in 4 minutes what so many feature length films cannot - completely absurd comedy that leaves audiences to ponder our stereotypes, good and bad, about cultural symbols. That this film comes out of Canada is even more significant, with the film's writer and directors giving us a bird's eye view of what it seems to be an American patriot and man. But in doing all of this, the film is easy to understand, laugh-out-loud funny, and strangely lovable. The actors are unassuming, modern men, out of place in a WWII world, which adds to the hilarity of the film. I was lucky enough to view it at the New York Comedy Shorts Festival where it got big laughs and hope more people can get behind these smart comedians. WATCH THIS.
