The Japanese version of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

I grew up with the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (in fact recently I met 3 of them!) when it first aired, but sadly my interest in the American version waned a bit and then turned into a love/hate relationship. I liked the footage with the fights, but didn't like the cheesy American footage even though I did enjoy the characters. When I first heard of this show coming on DVD I had to get it. It surpasses the American version in every way, the characters are more interesting, a consistent and coherent storyline (some dark moments though), and good messages for everyone. I love these rangers more since they have more believable personality, even the mechas have personality including the megazord (known as Daizyuzin). Parental Guidance is definitely suggested for this one though (see Parents Guide for more details), but other than that it is an enjoyable experience.
