FROZEN IMPACT is a typically cheesy TV disaster movie in which a small town is assailed by a violent hailstorm that brings death and destruction to its inhabitants. The story is complicated by the efforts to save the life of an ailing child who is in desperate need of a liver transplant. Said liver is being transplanted in a small plane which is brought down by the hail, so those involved have only a few hours to transfer it to the new owner.

This is cheesy stuff indeed, always emphasising overwrought family emotion in place of suspense or tension. The hail scenes are generally a mixed bag although some rather poor CGI stands out, not only in the storm scenes but for plane flights and crashes and the like. As usual the running time is padded out by lots of extraneous material, here involving the offspring of the protagonist who decides to go rock climbing during a storm and has to subsequently be rescued. Stacy Keach is the only recognisable participant and he does make an effort here, bless him, although his performance is wasted in a generally below par film.
