To be honest I have never really read the All Star Superman comics. But I think this movie actually helped with understanding the comics. But to be frank I think this movie should have been split into to parts instead of one whole movie.
In first part apparently Lois gets kryptonian powers as a gift from Superman which doesn't last for long and in the same segment two random Super powered metahumans turn up called Atlas and Sampeson. Find out the rest in the movie.
In the second part Clark goes to a prison to speak to Lex Luthor and an ugly as sin Parasite wants revenge on Lex Luthor. Clarke protects his identity but still uses his powers to protect Luthor.
Not going to spoil anymore of the movie but the ending was beautiful. The animation could have improved because it looked rushed.
