Quickly outstays its welcome
26 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
LIKE A BAT OUTTA HELL is another indie horror film, this time hailing from Australia. Some nice establishing shots of the Australian countryside and a pleasant performance from old-timer Vernon Hells (MAD MAX 2: THE ROAD WARRIOR) are the best, and only interesting, things that this one has to offer. The story features the usual documentary crew hunting for legendary creatures and, unfortunately for them, finding them. There's minor bloodshed and well-designed but very poorly animated bat-human hybrids, but the whole thing is shoddily directed and quickly outstays its welcome.
