Kate Hudson stars in this romantic comedy that is at times hard to watch as Dane Cook's character descends into a raunchy and rather off-putting performance. Even though Dane's character is actually supposed to play at being the worst date to the point that it makes any girl want to run back to their former boyfriend, the script goes overboard to the point that it makes some audience members watching the movie want to run back to the traditionally safe romantic comedies. Thus there are scenes that are tough to watch. Overall, this is a funny, at times raunchy movie that could have been better if Dane's character had been more carefully developed and the finer nuances of transforming this movie into a more watchable film. Kate does well in her role. An uneven but makes it over the finish line in rough fashion.
