Hoping to strike gold, the filmmakers of Ghosthouse throw in everything they possibly can - violent giallo/slasher style murders, the creepy clown doll from Poltergeist, eerie radio messages, the most haunted house since Amityville, and creepy kids. To my surprise, it ends up sort of working in its own oddball way, feeling like one of those eager to please haunted attractions that pops up around Halloween season. It's silly, goofy, but sometimes creepy in spite of itself.
