Review of Underwater!

Underwater! (1955)
6/10
It's Like an 1 1/2 episode of SEA HUNT!
30 April 2020
Except it's in color, it's wide screen- RKO's first use of "SUPERSCOPE" and best of all, instead of LLoyd Bridges, it has Jane Russell-when she was still in her glorious prime, as she shows off her glorious body in a variety of swimsuits, halter tops, sarongs and shorts. Jane typified the 50's much as the autos of the period did-big, plenty of chrome, and stylish. Not much of a plot in this, something to do with Jane and Richard Egan as her hubby searching for shipwrecked treasure. Also onboard is the always entertaining Gilbert Roland as Egan's pal, who also gets to show off his Latin lover persona and Lori Martin, who doesn't seem to have much to do except look pretty. Just like a "Sea Hunt" episode Jane finds herself trapped in the final .15 in an underwater wreck, with a shark circling above her, undoubtably checking out her ample cleavage. Will she make it? Check it out.
