Simply put "Partner" is a clunky and unfunny film.
Ryan O'Neal has the same facial expression the whole film. I am not sure but he looks like he is either constipated or is wearing a underwear four sizes too small.
And John Hurt is completely wasted in. His acting is monotone and uninspired. He seem embarrassed for acting in such a poor film.
And the fish-out-of -water premise did not work at all.
Probably the producers wanted to ride on the gay wave started with the much more entertaining and superior "Victor or Victoria", but failed miserably.
