Tragic and realistic

Warning: Spoilers
Many Filipino "gay-themed" movies cover topics that are deeply disturbing: prostitution, drugs, crime, poverty. This film covers all of them and in a deeply sad and realistic way.

Although there are erotic scenes peppered throughout the film, the film could not be called "erotic." The story of poor young men desperate enough to dance in a gay bar and sell their bodies so they can survive does not strike me as being a great way to make a living. They must also deal with corrupt police, drugs, family matters, and the raw emotions that they experience just trying to survive.

The film quality is poor, the soundtrack is not great and there do not appear to be any real actors in it -- but it doesn't matter, because it's powerful and moving and shocking and sad.

I felt for all of the young actors and actresses that were forced by necessity and/or literally forced into prostitution. This is not something to "enjoy." This movie makes you question what kind of government would allow this to happen to its citizens? It makes you realize how fragile life is, how much people don't care about anybody but themselves, how tragic so many lives are and much, much more.

Do not watch this movie thinking you're going to be in a for fun, erotic adventure. If you're brave enough to stay to the end, you're going to see and experience things that are disturbing. I think everyone did a great job and I just wish it wasn't so incredibly honest, because it's sad to think that this is how people had to live, and no doubt still do.
