Meerkat Manor got a recent rerun of the first 2 series the BBC2 at around 18.30 each day over a few weeks. I was left wanting more and, after a quick trip to IMDB, was surprised to see there were a further 2 series. Couldn't understand for the life of me why the BBC hadn't shown 3 and 4 until I managed to catch them via another source.
It became obvious after watching 3 and 4 why. This most recent showing would be at a time children would be watching and, if your kids are of the sensitive type, would be devastated at brutal life on the manor.
I however loved it, it's not just a wildlife documentary, it's a drama. You become involved with their personalities, stories, tragedies and power struggles. Bill Nighy's commentary is superbly written and delivered (no idea whether the US version with Whoopi Goldberg is a copy/paste).
if you're only familiar with the first 2 series I urge you to seek out 3 and 4, quite brilliant.
