A true story about the Hunger strike of Irish Republican Bobby Sands in Northern Ireland during the troubles. You get to meet the struggles of the man, the pain he feels and his motivations.
The film does feel dry at times and more of a historical context could have been given throughout the film to make it more moving and memorable but I guess Steve McQueens idea was to show in a pure fashion the struggles of Sands.
