Complaints in some reviews here are mystifying, except for those with obvious pretentions to elitism. The chemistry between the the leads is unparalleled in the other iterations of P&P. This is magic. Brilliant. Unlike Olivier, Macfayden has the skill of subtlety and reserve. This is not a 'modern' version, it is a far superior version, depicting nuance, romance, complexity, instead of oddly idealized previous versions of simplistic flat caracitures. Stunningly perfect performances, directing and writing.
