An odd film, made me laugh in all the right places.
Family doing a trip to the in-laws (Dads in-laws) and he decides to take a short cut which is where it all goes wrong. One by one they get picked off after picking up a woman in white with a baby.
Nothing was off limits with the black humour and it was timed very well. Listen for the Marilyn Manson conversation near the beginning, it's a gem.
This movie doesn't take itself seriously, unlike some of the reviewers on here and comes close to being OTT but holds back just enough. Lin Shaye who is a veteran of countless horror films (usually the crazy old woman in the rocking chair) is at her best and plays the psycho mind losing 'mom' to perfection. She really is a treasure. Ray Wise matches her step for step and is superb as the over bearing dad. The rest of the cast do a great support job. But Mom & Dad are the stars.
This is destined to be a cult classic and easy to see groups of teens gathering with plenty of beer to watch it and memorise some great black humour.
It's a 7 because it's a rare find in a jungle of mediocrity.
