Not quite classic Chan, but still has some great set pieces
28 September 2021
Not among Jackie Chan's very best, but it's a fun watch with some good comedy (with a few jokes that do miss, though) and good action, with three set pieces standing out:

  • the climactic fight with the giant wind turbine thing that propels Jackie and his foes in different directions
  • the large brawl in the underground bunker, which is packed with great acrobatics and some really inventive set design
  • and the highlight of the film, an over the top car chase with Chan himself of a motorcycle, which is worth the price of admission alone.

The plot is barebones, and the female characters are the butt of many jokes (pun semi-intended), but at the same time... all three of Jackie's sidekicks are females, and there's no forced romantic nonsense with any of them, so in that way maybe it's progressive??
