Non-Stop Action & Car Chases With A Top Cast Of Actors.
6 December 2021
Another pleasantly surprised watch. A Direct-to-video B-movie Action flick that punches way above it's weight.

I checked this out because I'm a huge fan of the movie Legend ROY SCHEIDER (Jaws, Jaws 2, Sorcerer, The French Connection, The Seven-Ups, Blue Thunder) & have been checking out his later in his Career B-movie films & have found some Awesome Gems amongst his later filmography. I really enjoyed "Pluto's Run" where Scheider played a big boss villain type & here he plays the United States President. The 90's was the late part of his Career where he took easy roles probably for the paycheck but his presence is always enjoyable & he always gives a solid performance & never just "Rings it in" as the old saying goes. Scheider is a great screen presence & does fine job here as a Good President that gets kidnapped in a bigger mastermind villain plot.

Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs, Species) is cool-as-ice here as Nick, an ex-stunt car driver for movies but made a mistake that put him behind bars for abit & whilst being transported on a prison bus, he is broken out by a criminal organisation to do a job. Madsen is just a cool character & seems always in control & makes for a decent tough lead here & is the best I've seen him since Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs but Madsen is a unique & strong brooding screen presence & has become a B-movie legend in his own right. Madsen is great at playing those moody, loner & sadisticly funny criminal types as seen in many Tarantino films so it's nice to see him as the "Hero" & lead star here even if he is still basically a criminal type again. Madsen is excellent in Reservoir Dogs, Species 1&2, The Getaway & many more. His peak of "Star" quality was the 90's but he's still going strong today.

Madsen plays Nick & has to be the Getaway driver for a bank robbery & later to kidnap the President but as a smooth operator he has his own plan.

The cast is great with Keith David (The Thing, They Live, Dead Presidents, Men at Work,Transporter 2) as the mastermind main villain called Lamar Quentin & he's hilarious & loving the role & created a fun memorable bad guy.

The super sexy & hot-as-hell Angie Everheart (Bordello of Blood) is really good as a tough villain working for Lamar & shows she's a good actress & kick-ass. There's some other characters that are fun too such as Nick's best buddy who is very funny.

There's loads of action, loads of explosions & loads of shootouts & it all looks fantastic for a low-budget movie!!!

Executive Target is a 90's B-movie Gem that's so enjoyable & entertaining & has a a top notch cast having such fun with their parts.

I was very pleased with how much i enjoyed this thrilling action film & it's characters.

I'm enjoying checking out Roy Scheider's 90's films & get a nice sense of Nostalgia for these 90's action thrillers as i grew up during those great Video shop days. I miss Blockbuster & video shops.
