Moose is clearly one of the most inspiring characters of this genre of movies. It's not a Nolan's movie, everybody knows that, it's certainly not a critics favorite but it tells the story of a group of people that have found something they are willing to give their life for, a deep love for every new move they learn, the willingness to sacrifice every aspect of your life to do what makes you find joy, like real joy, in a life that is so subjective and fragile. Moose represents some of the young people who don't know what do after graduating high-school and feel the pressure of making bad important decisions, his passion is dancing, his rational and foot on the ground side that his parents naturally support tells him to go to college and study for good grades in engineering. Sure you can do both, and he's a nerdy, intelligent, charismatic character who tries to be good two things at once but starts failing at both.
