Half-baked and Unsatisfying

Warning: Spoilers
This movie is a cheap imitation of Child's Play but featuring a violent confectionery instead of a possessed doll. However, the allure of Gary Busey was too much for me to resist and I gave The Gingerdead Man a chance.

The absolute predictability of the plot, lack of it's titular villain, and barren sets made for a horrible experience that left me wanting my hour of life back.

About 10 seconds into the movie, one of the characters is introduced doing a Gary Busey impression. Hey writers! You don't need to foreshadow that your actor can act like the villain so we won't be caught off guard later when they are possessed. This is the equivalent to showing the actors putting on blood packs so we know the survivors from the start. The poor souls who watched this movie with me called the "eat the cookie and get possessed" twist immediately and the last spark of interest drained from our eyes.

The sets rarely had enough props to fill the frame and the family bakery looked like the last display in an cleared out showroom. Combined with the lack of the Gingerdead Man prop this film was visually boring to watch until the last 10 minutes.

I hear there were sequels made. I guess a shameless property could only ever hope to dig deep for more rotten material to repackage instead of trying to make something good.
