This episode started out really good and it was somewhat promising but it had the same issue most CSI episodes did towards the end.
At the end they didn't really prove anything and all the evidence they had was inconclusive so they had to "reconstruct the crime scene" using laser tags which never yield accurate results. None of the conclusions they reached during this episode would make it to a real court because they are circumstantial at best, total guesswork at worst.
Two episodes wasted for a case they didn't really solve but they still pretended that they solved the case at the end.
