Bringing out the dead is an unrelentingly depressing watch.
For many that's enough to just make this movie a non-starter. Almost every element of this movie brings the lead and those around him down like an ever steeper helter-skelter.
There are some points that seem a stretch, making the movie slightly less credulous. But isn't that the challenge with movies such as this? And the suspension of belief is a critical element of any work of fiction.
Lots of little roles and characters to look out for.
But Cage is obviously driving the piece. This role is exactly what you'd expect from Cage, perhaps more so.
Not an enjoyable watch but I'm glad I have now seen it.
