More cheese than a Kraft warehouse

On the plus side, they check all the boxes for spoofing everything found in the Hong Kong martial arts flicks of the1970s, including those with mystical elements. Lack of continuity, villainous cackling, weaponized beard, dialog with drivel delivered as if profound, long training sequences, and, of course, revenge driving the plot. They also toss in other bits of silliness, ranging from casting to costumes, bad synching and even a bit of Abbot and Costello.

The problem is that it's only occasionally funny, making it seem much longer than its running time. The long pointless pauses, despite their satiric intent, grow more annoying than amusing. If you're looking for a spoof generating more laughs, try Kung Pow: Enter the Fist. That packs more of a punch to tide you over until the next time you're in the mood to re-watch the best of the best (lower case; not the title of those mediocre movies), KUNG FU HUSTLE. That's entertainment.
