GO FOR BROKE in better
7 September 2022
Any movie buff who likes war films especially those speaking of the American Japanese batallion involved during WW2, any of these guys will know that there was already a film about this batallion GO GOR BROKE, made in the fifties. It was a propaganda but a very interesting movie, showing something very unpredictable, Japanese American men who fought for the US Army but not on the Pacific Islands front, and this for obvious reasons. This vey war feature doesn't avoid clichés about families, melodrama matters, this is not SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, but still interesting to watch. I like the scene where. A French civilian woman says to a Jap American soldier: "You don't look like Americans". I am so sorry that the military character did not answer her " Do you think we look like Germans?" That should have been a great replica. This film is not as propaganda as the first one, so it is a bit better, but this remains a common but efficient war feature. At least concerning a very unusual batallion.
