When this flick is first announced I was curious as to how they were going to do it considering the big surprise from the first film is already out in the open. But I enjoyed the film more than I would have anticipated, the majority of time, the film follows almost the same pattern as the original, it is not until halfway through that a game changer twist is revealed and really enhances the experience, giving it sense of freshness. The performance is good especially the leading performance from Isabelle furhman. Couple of negatives, the third act gets really silly and some supporting characters become almost cartoonish. Visually the film looks murky and unappealing. On the whole, Orphan first kill, is new enough to be refreshing, while also consistent enough to be a solid prequel to the first movie. Nothing special but still enjoyable.
