Like most genres of movies there are fast/slow/romantic/ violent/good story or none/ comedic etc,list is endless and to me this film falls into slow/only violent when necessary/good story, Pinkerton Detective hunts down 'war criminals' - first time heard this phrase in a western. Stars include Mira Sorvino, Bruce Dern, Wes Studi and Kevin Makely who I've never heard of but................. Very nice locations and the film is set in 4 different story's and has a very good support cast. Many reviewers have seemingly based theirs on the fact that the film was "slow" or 'has no story' and while the first may be true when Badland is compared to say The Long Riders, Unforgiven, Glory or virtually any Clint Eastwood western, the film definitely has a story and I think many are mixing that up with the fact that people aren't bleeding out or being gutted all through it.
