The director seemed to have been unable to decide if he wanted to make a dark drama or a more light hearted effort but what we got was neither. It would have been a lot better to have gone for the darker version which would have appealed to adults rather than a version that fails to appeal to adults or children, a bit of a mish mash version badly directed. There were signs of pediaphilia, especially the captain, which was uneasy viewing but the captain's struggle with his dark thoughts should have been explored more. It is a bit of a boring plod to watch with cartoon style violence and it is probably best avoided.
