I watched the first episode and decided for me that it is not worth watching hundreds of episodes just to have watched it. I think for guys who watched the show in their childhood this is nostalgia pure but unfortunately I'm not this old and watched other (in my opinion better) shows. I also do not know how they achieved to get 5-7 series on the IMDb Top 250 list, it's so confusing. Dragonball is just too long for me.
Neithertheless you should give it a chance it may have some reasons why it is so popular around the world. Just make sure you find out which show to start with and in what chronological order you should watch them.
