This scene and making me understand the other part of The conversation with Ryan. This scene talking to Aningaaq was my favorite of the entire movie, and watching this small movie from Aningaaq's perspective is truly hitting me in the feels. What an amazing movie honestly. One thing bothers me. Isn't Mayday an international distress call ? How aningaaq has a radio and doesn't knows this? I think to some extent talking to ryan helped aningaaq just do the deed because he figured since she wasn't responding it was a sign he couldn't put it off any longer. They helped each other. While his dog was on the brink of death so was Ryan and they didn't even realize it. Super interesting how his radio was able to pick up space transmissions just because of her being directly above him, he must have some good equipment despite being kinda off grid. Apparently the dialogue didn't match up perfectly yet it just makes the scene so depressing with the context. Its upsetting. Ryan got a happy ending but aningaaq didn't. And they'll never know each other either. He'll never know he received a space transmission. She'll never know the origin of his transmission and it'll remain mysterious. Dare i say this short film was more captivating than the movie.
