Honor Among Thieves finds a great balance between action, humor and gravitas. The film is genuinely funny and exciting. It's also very friendly to people who aren't familiar with the game and wouldn't know their Baldur's Gate from their Harpers. Filled with endearing characters played by actors having a really good time, and a formidable villain. From the people who brought you Game Night, another fine comedy about... a game. Sure, Hugh Grant is not stretching himself here and just doing his usual schtick, but his schtick is so fun to watch that who cares. Monsters, magic and beautiful vistas. The filmmakers have rolled a 20 and scored a critical hit.
