However most of the references to the Nintendo universe were forced onto the viewer and I much rather when it's done within a element of set that is not interacted with.
The mixed feeling is coming from that but also from the general feeling of nothing special. It is everything you wanted to see but without surprises.
On a good note some of the jokes are working very well and the animation is really clean - when you have Miyamoto on your producer roaster I guess it helps the artistic direction.
