I would love to rate an in-depth documentary of Judy Garland with real audio and video footage higher, because there is some high quality background biography for Judy's life in this film. There are also glorious portrayals of her singing and performing with incredible emotion, it in many ways seems like a love letter to Judy Garland while still emphasizing the pain and struggle of her life.
Alas, I cannot rate Sid & Judy above "pretty good" because the entire documentary is obviously biased sympathetically towards Sid which I do not feel is accurate or fair to Judy. This flick is also extremely depressing and has very few bright spots to feature Judy Garland's happier times. Finally, there's this stupid voice over by someone who is quite obviously NOT Judy Garland playing the part of speaking Judy's written words, which I found annoying.
