The Director missed an opportunity here I think and went for gore and blood again and again ... ho hum. Anyway - it's an old movie and filled the time well enough. Michael Madsen, who has always been one of my favourites does his usual bad ass smart alec stick, but I really wish the violence could have been more understated.
Also, what are Doe's motives? I didn't get it, did the cop just piss him off and thus set off the chain of unfortunate events....was it a just a terrible coincidence that he stopped off at that diner when he did.
I chanced on this late at night on an obscure channel and it was a perfect B flick that wasn't a 1000 hours long for a nice change.
