Paranoia (1969)
5/10
Not very good, but kind of watchable

Paranoia follows a recently widowed woman who moves to Italy, seemingly instantly starting a romance with a younger man. Eventually, he and his step-sister force themselves into her life, and more or less live at her spacious mansion, even though she objects. Then I guess that's where all the thriller elements come in... sort of.

It's just not particularly well-paced. The whole thing feels more than a little choppy, and editing aside, the writing is really just okay at best. It has serviceable characters and narrative beats, but nothing that feels particularly clever or beyond serviceable.

It's overall sleazy and a little bit silly, in a way that's not entirely boring, but I also couldn't quite call it fun. At least it's short, and at least it's pretty upfront about what kind of movie it is straight away. That might not make it good exactly, but it did mean that I can't quite say I hated it.
