This ¨Dangerous minds¨ bears remarkable resemblance to ¨Stand and deliver¨ and especially ¨To Sir, with Love¨(1967)¨ with Sidney Poitier in a similar role to Michelle Pfeiffer , but it has nothing to do with the classic ¨Blackboard jungle¨ (1955) by Richard Brooks, written by Evan Hunter with Glenn Ford , Anne Francis and Sidney Poitier himself ; the latter dealing with a ominous group of students carrying out threats , robbing with gangs terrorizing the entire high school by executing crimes and violence at random , then the English teacher Glenn Ford pulls off his owns objectives , leading to an ever higher tension , in fact , due to the film violent content was heavily censored . This ¨dangerous Minds¨ is more sensitive , enjoyable and charming than the previous film , though Ronald Bass's hackneyed script is all carrot and no stick , at all . If it looks more than a little simplistic and dated nowadays , there are good-natured messages and nice sentiment .
