The reason why this is not an easy 10 is because it took me two times and a decent period in-between those times to appreciate this movie. There are nuances of the movie I do not like. The main character is a bit awkward to say the least, but he matures "in time." The awkwardness really did not do the movie any good the first time I saw it. The conflict between the main character and himself from the different times needs some thought as to why it works.
Once you realize this you can really sit back and enjoy this movie. The main characters and their interactions, both good and bad, is what makes this movie. The first time I saw it I did not care for the ending due to something lost. Personally, I do not like that kind of a conclusion to time travel. But they do explain it in a convincing manner that is proven by the plot of the movie. So, they do more than just stating the reason, you are seeing the reason as the movie progresses. It is easy to miss considering all that is going on.
It all ties in nicely at the end to make a great ending. It is now one of my favorite time traveling movies. I would say it is in the top ten now. Be prepared to watch it at least twice to see all the important aspects of the plot.
