Terrible. Exploitative and full of hubris
1 August 2023
"share", Which I decided to watch because it was (allegedly) co-produced by a24, is an absolute train wreck of a movie.

There is no script to speak of, It's a one-liner stretched over an hour and a half of hubris from a writer/director that ignores the real problem at hand for a completely self-centered exploitative take on the so called #metoo movement.

Ironically just like real life, and the associated movement, the movie fizzles out within 15 minutes, and only drags on because it seems to weirdly enjoy this bizarre self-flagellation in the name of what? Well certainly not in the name of art because there's nothing artistic about this movie. The sound design and mix is terrible with the need to use SHD subtitles even for native English speakers, the photography is trope after trope and the usual bokehed cliché shots, the 'dreamy shots' that last forever for no reason, etc

Go woke go broke prove itself right once again. I'm so disappointed that a24 would even lend its name to something like that. I read somewhere that the movie wasn't exactly produced by them but more of a co-production which gives me the strong feeling that a certain someone put some strings to get herself this prestigious credit. You can even see in the opening that the a24 name is slightly covered unlike the HBO logo - foreboding warning of what to come.

Don't waste your time.
