This is a documentary about the Army McCarthy hearings of 1954. It is simple, straightforward and no frills. It has no narration or music it simply lets the facts speak for themselves. We might ask ourselves how someone like Joseph McCarthy could rise from being a chicken farmer and obscure county judge to the most feared man in Washington that even a President who was a five star war hero was afraid of. I don't believe that this man had any real feelings about the dangers of Communism, he just used his witch hunt like a sleek opportunist because he needed an issue to get reelected and he ruined the lives and careers of countless innocent people int he process and we let him get away with it. Shame on him and shame on us.
