Look who's stalking

I liked the first Child's Play (1988), and though it was an entertaining horror movie about a killer doll, and felt the same with the sequel Child's Play 2 (1990); though Child's Play 3 (1991) is not on the same level as the first two movies, this third movie is not bad and is still entertaining to watch like the other two. Since this came out one year after the second film, it felt like they were trying to rush certain things in the movie, which made me want to say that they should have spent more time on this movie by taking more than one year to make the film to make it better.

Justin Whalin plays teenager Andy Barclay, and he does do a decent job, he just needed to be in the movie more; because of the last movie's events, he is now taking part in a military camp because he does not have anywhere else, he can go, especially since he is sixteen. I like how despite trying to forget about what happened with Chucky in the other two movies, whenever he sees a Good Guy doll, he gets paranoid and flashbacks to when he was younger, even when nobody believes him. A kid named Tyler played by Jeremy Sylvers gets manipulated in a way by Chucky and is the one being chosen to be the person Chucky wants to transfer his soul into, mostly because he was the first to see Chucky alive in his new body; all of this could have worked if it there was more of it, because they do it sometimes in the movie, then most of the movie the plot point is not used.

Chucky voiced by Brad Dourif is once again great to watch, and entertaining to watch; now getting revenge on Andy and doing the ritual with Tyler, he is doing whatever it takes to get Tyler and complete his goal. The puppeteering is still well done with how Chucky runs around, talks, and interacts with other people; along with good cinematography there were things done in the movie that made me wonder how they did it. There are well done brutal kills that can be bloody when they can, and the way Chucky kills these people is entertaining to watch when he is killing them with not just a knife but whatever is in the room with him.

Child's Play 3 (1991) was entertaining and fun to watch like the first two, though it is not a perfect movie, because it has its issues with rushing things together for it coming one year after the second film. If you like the first two, then you will like this third movie, if you did not like the first two, then do not bother watching this sequel; like the first two, it is worth watching, and if you have seen it before, it is worth rewatching. I know this movie is not perfect like most horror movies, but it is an enjoyable time.
