Good combat scenes, but a Jarhead sequel in title only.

If you came here for a direct sequel to Jarhead, I'm afraid you're going to be quite disappointed in that regard. However, if you like modern war films (as I do), you'll get something out of this one nonetheless.

As alluded to above, 'Field of Fire' is a Jarhead sequel in title only, with no resemblance to the original film aside from the presence of Jarheads - US Marine Corps troops. In this DTV sequel (that actually has quite high production standards, and some very good combat scenes, many of them shot in a similar fashion to that which was first made popular by Spielberg in Saving Private Ryan) a group of Marines, including Cole Hauser (not yet famous for his role in Yellowstone) are cut off behind the lines in Afghanistan, and pursued by a multitude of enemy gunmen there. They soon encounter a young Afghani woman, and must shepherd her to the safety of their base.
