Review of Shark Waters

Shark Waters (2022)
3/10
I've watched worse.

Seeing it was from Asylum, I lowered my already low expectations. The biggest problem was not just the script, as it is very generic and farfetched. The characters were somewhat likeable, so you do care who got killed next. The real problem was in the execution. Donna falls overboard, and her boyfriend Wyatt get ahold of the throttle, and gets a shark tangled in the prop. But a scene from underwater shows no sharks near the props. Wyatt then jumps in the water to go mano-a-mano to kill a shark, which is not good idea. The ship's radio is knocked out, but Lucia has her phone, but naturally the battery is almost dead. But she got a call to her father, and was able to give the exact location of where they were. They start taking on water, the boat being hit by the sharks, but while there is water on the deck, apparently none below. In water filled with aggressive sharks, two of the rescuers come out in a rubber dinghy. The captain and first mate were likeable, so I do give it three stars. But only barely. But this is a low budget shark movie, so one is not expecting much from the film, and at least it is short.
